Terrassises / Terre Promise refers to a wider design and research process based on the territory of the Euroregion of New Aquitaine, Euskadi, Navarre and the future of our anthropocenic territory in the context of climate change.
The structures on display here, in the heart of San Sebastian, are made of raw earth collected in situ, mixed with earth from other parts of the region, creating a back and forth movement between the city and the surrounding territory.
Using the rammed earth technique, a traditional method of earth compression, seats are created as small prototypes of a monolithic, modular and reproducible system. The composition of the elements allows them to remain in their environment and return to the earth at the end of their cycle.
